CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
I began my social work career at Riker's Island Correctional Facility, a 14,000 bed jail in NYC. After relocating to Colorado Springs, I joined the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center where I worked my way from serving as an entry-level clinician to the Director of Mental Health for the 1700 bed facility. I bring expertise in the care and management of clients with severe and persistent mental illness, personality disorders, trauma histories and people who are acutely suicidal/self-injurious. I have been involved with the development and implementation of a highly successful, suicide prevention protocol at the El Paso County Jail in addition to writing standard operating procedures for the jail mental health team as well as the county Co-Responder Unit. Outside of my forensic experience, I have also worked with the Child Center of New York with emotionally disturbed children and youth at Youth at Risk with the Beyond Barriers program for survivors of domestic violence and with Project Sanctuary, doing therapeutic recreation with Military families. I have spent several years in private practice and have experience working with clients with a diverse ranges of needs, backgrounds and symptoms. I've run a small private practice in Colorado Springs for over a decade where I treat a range of clients with trauma, mood, and personality disorders while also offering clinical supervision and case consultation.
